Location
To the east of Borneo/Indonesia, the third largest island in the world, lies the Maratua Atoll and its lagoon, typical of Indonesia’s constituent islands that are minor in size. On the very southern-eastern tip of the lagoon are a few untouched islands and it is here, on Pulau Nunukan that Extra Divers are proud to introduce the in August 2008 opened 'Nabucco’s Nunukan Island Resort'.
The resort is perfectly nestled into the outstanding nature, not a single tree has been cut down for the buildings, it's all bult by ecological standpoints:the hot water is produced by solar energy, ecological sewage treatment- and composting treatment facilities and rainwater collection system guarantee best safe for the beautiful natur surrounding the island.
The resort is defined by two main areas, the first compromises of the open air restaurant and bar, dive centre, office and shop overlooking the long jetty to the open sea side and the second area located on the opposite side overlooking the lagoon consists of the landscaped gardens and the lavish guest bungalows.
'Nabucco’s Nunukan Island Resort' provides a fantastic house reef, that is stretching along the island for about 4km –unaffected and waiting to be discovered!
Even from the jetty, you may admire the amazing Nunukan underwater world: a steep face, offering fantastic new impressions on almost every meter you are descending.
Nunukan will be closed from December 10, 2024 to February 28, 2025
