More about the destination
Itinerary & diving area
The professionally managed Extra Divers dive center, under German leadership, is located directly at the resort’s jetty. The pristine dive area will make any diver’s heart race, as both macro and large fish highlights can be discovered here. Dive up to five times a day – exactly as you wish – whether it’s a single tank, double tank, early morning dive, or night dive – shape your personal dive adventure. An exciting day trip to the muck diving site Magic-Jetty is also possible. More than 40 untouched dive sites are located just 5-20 minutes by boat from the resort. Dives take place in small groups with a maximum of 4 divers per guide. In addition to easily accessible macro dive sites and coral gardens, there are also current-swept channels with opportunities to see large fish. Two dive boats are available for dive excursions.
The North Moluccas guarantee unique dives, as the area boasts sensational biodiversity. On almost every dive, you’ll encounter several blacktip sharks, and sometimes grey and whitetip sharks on current-swept walls. Turtles, mackerel, and bumphead parrotfish are also sighted at the dive spots. A truly special feature is the endemic and rare Halmahera walking shark, which particularly strolls across the reef during night dives. Colorful coral gardens in vibrant hues and densely overgrown drop-offs offer impressive photo opportunities. There are huge intact hard corals, colorful sponges, and numerous fan corals. But that’s not all: Macro enthusiasts will also be delighted, as the reefs offer an abundance of macro highlights. With the help of experienced dive guides, you can discover pygmy seahorses, frogfish, ghost pipefish, nudibranchs, leaf scorpionfish, various octopuses, as well as harlequin and boxer shrimp. And another highlight is worth mentioning: You almost never see other divers during the dives, as the area is still largely undeveloped for tourism.
Due to the remote location of the resort, guests must have valid travel health and dive insurance (DAN, aqua med, or similar) and be able to present it on site.
