Kenya / Temple Point Resort

Location

The 4 star Temple Point Resort is located about 120 km north of the Mombasa Airport, in the middle of the Watamu Marine National Park, above a beautiful sandy beach directly at the Indian Ocean. At the entrance of the former harbor of the sunken city of Gede, the resort links the Indian Ocean and the Mida Creek lagoon, a paradise of tropical birds on the tip of a peninsula. In just 5 minutes by car you reach Watamu and its many little shops, restaurants and bars.

Facilities

The spacious hotel grounds under German managements have a total of 104 rooms in typical Swahili Style, in 20 different chalets. 34 rooms are located on the Mida Creek and 70 inside the botanic gardens. The resort also has two saltwater pools, two sun decks, the Clubhouse Restaurant with a view of the Sunset Pool and the Mida Creek, the Lounge Snack Bar with a panoramic view from the terrace, pool tables and à-la-carte service, as well as wellness and massage facilities, a gym and a boutique shop.

Accommodation

The 20 individual chalets are spread all over a 48,000 m² large tropical garden. Every chalet houses 3-8 individual rooms in three different categories.
The Standard Rooms (ca. 22m²) have a modern bathroom with hair dryer, cosmetic mirror, toiletries and sanitary products, air condition, mosquito nets, ceiling fan, safe, satellite TV with flat screen, mini fridge, water boilers and tea and coffee makers, as well as a balcony or terrace with a view of the gardens. On top of that, the Bayview Rooms offer a beautiful view of the Mida Creek. The Superior category of the Standard and Bayview Rooms are more spacious (ca. 34m²) and comfortable. The resort offers both single and double rooms, as well as interconnected three- or four-bed rooms for families.

Sport and Wellness

The Temple SPA offers relaxation treatments manicure and pedicure as well as massages. In addition, there’s a daily sports and activity schedule of aqua aerobic, soccer, tennis, archery, table tennis, bocce, pool billiard and many other alternatives. The guest experience team will be happy to organize volleyball matches and other tournaments inside the resort, as well as Yoga and kickboxing workouts o the beach. For water sport enthusiasts, there are canoes and SUP rentals, while the nearby watersports center offers kite surfing courses and equipment. The EXTRA DIVERS dive center inside the Temple Point Resort offers snorkeling and diving trips.

Catering & Culinary

The resort’s buffet restaurant (Clubhouse Restaurant) and the à-la-carte snack bar with a panoramic view are at your service. During meal hours, the Clubhouse Restaurant offers both international as well as Kenyan dishes at the buffet and live-cooking station, while the Snack Bar offers à-la-carte service throughout the entire day. Upon sunset, you’re invited to enjoy the romantic sunset over the Mida Creek lagoon with an exotic cocktail or drink on the bar’s terrace. Other than that, the bar offers a free tea-time service between 4pm and 5pm. You can book your stay with breakfast, lunch and/or full board plus; the latter includes all soft drinks, coffee and tea during meal hours.
