Egypt / Extra Divers Equinox
The Extra Divers dive centre is located within the grounds of the Three Corners Equinox Beach Resort, right on the beach of a wide, sweeping bay. Marsa Alam Airport is approximately 30 km away, while Hurghada Airport is around 240 km from the resort.
Divers here are truly spoilt for choice, with a wide range of options, including house reef diving, Zodiac trips, minibus excursions and full-day boat trips to some of the most beautiful dive sites in southern Egypt. All boat trips depart directly from the resort's private jetty.
The reefs around Marsa Alam are among the best diving locations in Egypt. Fringing reefs along the coast, vibrant hard and soft coral gardens and dramatic drop-offs like the famous Elphinstone Reef promise a diverse and fascinating underwater experience.
Diving/Dive spots
Right in front of the dive centre lies a nearly 900-metre long, diverse house reef. With depths ranging from 5 to 40 metres, it offers an impressive variety of underwater landscapes: seagrass meadows, isolated coral pinnacles, and colourful coral gardens teeming with rays, moray eels, turtles, barracudas, eagle rays, pipefish and many other fascinating marine creatures. Access is easy, directly from the beach. With a bit of luck, even the famous dugongs of Abu Dabab may make an appearance here!
The well-known dive sites Abu Dabab and Elphinstone Reef are just a short boat ride away. Elphinstone Reef is particularly famous for its excellent chances of encountering hammerhead sharks and oceanic whitetip sharks (Longimanus). Early morning dives at Elphinstone are often organised, offering the rare opportunity to have this stunning reef almost to yourself.
Additionally, a guided day trip to Abu Gusum is offered once a week by minibus, taking divers to the 65-metre-long wreck of the Hamada. This wreck, beautifully covered in corals, lies in shallow water at a depth of 5 to 18 metres, making it accessible for a wide range of divers.

Team & Education
The dive centre is run by Mohamed and his multilingual team, offering training according to the standards of SSI, CMAS, and Pro-NRC in German, English, Italian, and Arabic. Children's diving courses are also available for those aged 8 and above.

Cash payments are accepted in Euros, US Dollars, or Egyptian Pounds (LE).
Credit card payments (most major cards accepted) incur a 2% transaction fee.
Important Information – Amusement Tax in Egypt
Please note that all diving services in Egypt are subject to a 10% government-mandated amusement tax. This tax applies to all dive centres along the Red Sea, including Extra Divers, and must be paid to the Egyptian tax authorities. The 14% VAT (Value Added Tax) is still included in our listed prices.
