Tobago / Nabucco`s Resort Speyside Inn
This small resort is very popular with divers and is located in the north-east of Tobago, on the edge of the Caribbean fishing village of Speyside and at the foot of a lush rainforest landscape, with a fantastic view of the sea and the islands of „Little Tobago“ and „Goat Island“. The nearest beach is about 10 minutes away in Speyside. Only a little-used coastal road separates the hotel from the sea, while transfer from Tobago airport takes about 1.5 hours. The Nabucco Resort Speyside Inn together with Extra Divers Speyside offers a diving holiday, which is a far cry from crowded tourist hotspots.
The hotel offers a highly personalised service, totally in the Caribbean style. The hotel includes a reception area with a reception desk, a seating area and Internet access. In addition, there is a restaurant serving fresh seafood and varied Caribbean cuisine as well as a bar. A pool is located in the beautiful hillside garden (deckchairs and towels are available free of charge).
19 rooms featuring one double-bed or two single beds, shower/toilet, air conditioning, safe, fridge and balcony or terrace with sea view. The two family-friendly cottages have a connecting door, a small kitchenette and a large terrace.
Sport and Wellness
Those keen to explore the rich flora and fauna of the island can venture into the rainforest and look out for hummingbirds, colourful butterflies, parrots and snakes. We also recommend a trip to the nearby fishing village of Charlotteville, one of the most romantic villages on the island. Also available for a fee: a tour of Little Tobago, car rental, diving, snorkelling and bird watching.
Catering & Culinary
Breakfast is included. An à-la-carte lunch and evening meal are offered in the restaurant. The hotel boasts excellent Creole cuisine and delicious cocktails.
Money can only be changed or pinned at the official banks.
The nearest bank and ATM is in Roxborough (approx. 30 minutes drive from Speyside) but unfortunately it is not always functioning. The best option to get money is the Scotiabank in Scarborough or Crownpoint (60 to 90 minutes drive from Speyside).
It is advised to ask the driver that picks you up at the airport to stop at the Scotiabank in Crownpoint (on the route to Speyside) to get money at the ATM.
Some hotels (including The Speyside Inn), car rental companies and (bigger) tour operators accept payment in USD. But all shops, bars and restaurant usually only accept TTD (Trinidad & Tobago dollars). Euros are not commonly accepted (not even at the bank sometimes or at a very unfavourable exchange rate).
Credit cards that are commonly accepted here are Visa & Mastercard (others might be difficult). Traveler Cheques are NOT accepted (also not by the banks).
The hotel can assist you in arranging guided tours to all the islands lovely places.
As a matter of course, it is also a pleasure for the hotel to organise your wedding in this dream-like surrounding.
